Uzbekistan Significantly Simplifies the Issuance of Entry Visas for Foreign Tourists

The Government of Uzbekistan is preparing a list of foreign countries for which it plans to simplify visa procedures from January 1, 2018. To accomplish this task, a permanent working group is formed, responsible for preparing measures for the phased simplification of visa and registration procedures for foreigners. Yesterday President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a Decree according to which this procedure would be simplified for tourists from Poland.

The document says that the country’s Foreign Ministry, starting next year, must issue entry visas for Poland citizens visiting the country for no more than 30 days, within two working days, not counting the day of receiving documents. At the same time, it will not be necessary to present tourist vouchers and invitations from tourist organizations of Uzbekistan.

The work to simplify the visa regime takes into account the dynamics of the development of bilateral relations between states, as well as the conjuncture of the world tourism market. In particular, this group should already by the end of September form a list of countries for which citizens are offered simplification from the beginning of the new year of the visa regime, as well as countries for whose citizens special programs for pilgrim tourism will be offered.
