Uzbekistan to create gastronomic map

A round table involving representatives of the State Tourism Committee and the Association of cooks of Uzbekistan took place in Tashkent. The meeting discussed the regulations on the formation of gastronomy maps of Tashkent.

The development and promotion of Gastronomic tourism map of Uzbekistan is carried out pursuant to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 2, 2016 # УП-4861 “On measures for the accelerated development of the tourism industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

Gastronomic map is a kind of a guide that allows navigating through the abundance of the rich cuisine of Uzbekistan, which by the way is presented not only with Uzbek national, but also the kitchens of all the peoples inhabiting our country, kitchens of almost all countries of the world performed by the leading masters of the culinary arts.

The main objectives of compiling the Gastronomic map is the accelerated development of gastronomic tourism, identification of catering, worthy to represent their dishes, level of service, sanitary conditions, raising the level of service in catering establishments, bringing them to world standards.

Requirements for public catering enterprises applying for inclusion in the Gastronomic map:

-compliance with all the requirements imposed on modern catering establishments, such as exterior and interior, sanitary and hygienic condition, kitchen equipment, the level of service, taste of food, pricing policy;

- status of catering establishments - membership in the Association of cooks of Uzbekistan;

-availability of diplomas;

-special education of staff.

The map shall be complied based on the people's vote for this or any other institution through Internet sites, Academy of the restaurant business, Association of private tourist organizations, Association of restaurants and hoteliers.

The jury that determines the outcome of the audit submission is made up of accredited professionals according to the criteria of WACS, as well as representatives of the State Committee on tourism development.
