The Web of Science database is one of the world’s largest resources for citing, indexing and analyzing the citation of a wide variety of scientific papers in all possible scientific fields. Regularly this database, created by Thomson Reuters, indexes thousands of diverse scientific journals and periodicals, and that is why many specialists and researchers prefer it in the preparation of new materials or to improve their own qualification.
About 45 percent of materials in this database are occupied by natural sciences, about 30 percent are given to humanitarian research, and the remaining 25 are technical works.
This information database contains 18 thousand of the world’s most famous magazines, 70 thousand conferences, and 80 thousand scientific monographs. The archive of the database stores materials from 1864.
In turn, the Web of Science has a rather complex inner structure, including several specialized citation indexes, divided into separate areas of scientific activity. Thanks to this, high clarity is achieved in indexing information, and the use of materials is an extremely simple task for tens of thousands of visitors to the resource.
The subscription of scientists, researchers and teachers of the republic to the Web of Science is an important factor in improving the quality of training highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in the system of higher education. This is a big event for the science of independent Uzbekistan.
