The Collection of the Museum of History of Uzbekistan to Be Replenished with a Copy of Bobur’s ‘Divan-i-Bobur’ Manuscript

The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov has visited the National Museum of India in Delhi.

The museum stores over 200 thousand works of art of Indian and foreign origin. A special gallery is devoted to the subjects of Central Asia, mainly associated with the period of the Boburids.

On behalf of the head of state on the return of artifacts of the historical and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people to the homeland, the Embassy of Uzbekistan agreed with the Indian side on the official transfer to the Uzbek side of the copies of the manuscript by Zakhriddin Muhammad Bobur ‘Divan-i-Bobur’, which dates back to 1528 and contains the rubois, written by the poet himself, and miniatures ‘The Wedding Ceremony of Prince Dara Shikokh’ of 1640.

The Director General of the National Museum of India, Buddha Rashmi Mani, officially handed over to the Uzbek delegation these copies of the manuscript and miniatures, which will be handed over to the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan.
