The renowned theater troupe will show in Tashkent two performances based on Yevgeny Grishkovets’s plays – ‘House’ and ‘Libra.’ Yevgeny Grishkovets is a symbolic figure. He is one of those who set the level in the cultural space of our time. The combination of MAAT School with the drama of a modern author promises a real holiday to the audience.
‘House’, according to Yevgeny Grishkovets, is a completely documentary play. The play staged by Sergei Puskepalis has been enjoying unchanged success on stage at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater since 2011. The premiere of ‘Libra’ was held this year, March 24. The director of the play is Evgeny Grishkovets himself. “This is my new play, which I decided to stage myself. This is the first time with me. Why? Only for the simple reason that I do not dare to trust the characters of this tender play to other people’s hands, though the characters in Libra are not sissies. They are normal, earthly men,” says the author.
A large number of famous artists are involved in the play. Those include People’s Artist of Russia Alla Pokrovskaya, Honored Artist of Russia Igor Zolotovitsky, Paulina Andreyeva, Kristina Babushkina, Honored Artist of Russia Stanislav Duzhnikov, and Honored Artist of Russia Sergei Ugryumov. We are well acquainted with them on film and television. And very soon we will be able to see these wonderful actors on stage, to feel the living magic of their play.
